Faith knowledge: body of information generated relatively quickly by authority to explain human interaction w the environment. Traditional knowledge: body of information collected over a long period of time that facilitates or described human interaction with the environment. Insect was sign of the rain coming. Not raining is a sign of adultery, made the ancestors angry. The touching of the rocks by the shaman. You needed to x your roof, and plow the elds before the rain came. Had to ask the chief in order to do the ritual. Insect was also a sign of rain. The idea that one persons mistake has an impact on the community. Knowing that the ground needs the rain. Scienti c knowledge: knowledge generated using the scienti c method, which can be performed by anybody. Hypothesis, predictions, tests, conclusions (small s recipe) Big s scientists: science and the way of doing science can be done in a whole bunch of ways.
