Accessory fruit: when tissues other than the ovary swell into the eshy part of the fruit i. e. strawberry, juicy esh is a swollen receptacle & the true fruit are what look like seeds. In pome fruit, ovary is localized within the core & eshy portion derived from a swollen hypanthium ( oral cup) Originally domesticated from malus sievrii, native to modern-day kazakhstan. Earliest record of domesticated apple is from the middle east region ~3000-4000 years ago.
