CIS 1250 Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: User-Centered Design, Usability, Iceberg
Document Summary
A model, early design of a product. Try out ideas in order to implement and improve further revisions. A way to brainstorm, design, test and communicate user interfaces. Can be used in design phase to communicate between people involved in the design. Can be used to communicate with the users. How does it work: choose the most important user. Get feedback from user: determine some typical tasks. Determine how you would expect the user to interact with the interface: make screenshots or sketches. Draw an early design of the user interface of the product: preform a usability test. Choose the user and get them to interact with the interface. Come up with a simulation for the user to use. Having someone take notes to note how the user reacts to the simulation. Feedback on how well the interface is working. Maybe the user uses the interface differently than you thought they would. Not required high quality, final design, fancy.
