CIS 1250 Lecture Notes - Usability, User-Centered Design, Filler Text
Document Summary
A prototype: a way to approach or design a problem where you don"t know what the solution is. It"s a model a way to try something out: often not complete idea, a model which something is based on- an early design, they are used to try out new ideas. What is a paper prototype: a paper prototype is a drawing, a way to way to brainstorm, test, and communicate user interfaces. It can be used for any interface such as: telephones, cars, handheld devices ect . And where the problems occur: since it is done on paper, you can easily modify it during the test, several tests can be conducted so that a pattern can be identified in the feedback. Roles in a usability test: computer actor, facilitator, observer. Interactivity with the user: high quality final interface designs, this includes colour, font, artwork, and layout choices, filler text, a flow chart showing all interactions.
