Challenging supremacy/superiority human life above other life forms (challenge binary) Interimplicated nature and culture, cant separate one from the other. Nature and culture: examines mostly representations of the environment in texts (including blogs, advertising, film, etc. ) Need to imagine an ecocentric way of thinking (more focus on the environment) So blocked in about our thinking of the environment. Problem of imagery nature stands in for something else (bird = freedom, not just a bird) Crisis of our imagination imagination isn"t fixed, fluidity to it. Need to think of nature not just as a symbol of our humanity. Human/nature binary need to reserve it and put nature first instead of human. Drawing from biological science and linking it to art and imagination. Literature as a cultural barometer as much as they are agents of change. Our job as critics and writers to reimagine relationships (human nature relationships)
