Collantine: catalogs all the neuroticism or madness occurring in the male roman nobles around him. Identifying the songs: it wasn"t necessary to print the name of the music in the play because they were such common musical pieces at the time. Think of a half-time show where popular music plays without a dj calling them out: in the early modern period, everyone knew all the tunes because there were a set number of them. New lyrics could easily be applied to these tunes, like how is done in this play.
