Literature moving from being designed from small environments to mass consumption. Writers represent things in new and intense ways. Focus on thoughts and personal experience rather than objects. Descriptions of things that are for sale, the dynamics of trade etc. those things are getting interconnected. Question of liberty is a major theme. Debates on ownership, rights to property etc. What are we free to own? what is the right to own things say about our liberty? . A lot of literature is debating where morality comes from. Britain becomes a major global power because of its shipping power/trade, and war. Lots of naval power and trade themes as well. Merchant class starts to establish itself politically as well because of this trade. Capitalism enables people to become more socially mobile.
