The doppler effect can be used to back up the theory of the big bang. The resulting explosions caused by this collapse are called a supernova (which is responsible for the wide spread of gasses in the universe). What is left over is all the mass of the once star compressed into itself so tightly that it generates an enormous gravitational field. The strength of gravity is so large that not even light can escape the event horizon (most dense location): know the estimated age of the universe and how scientists arrive at this figure. (ans).
