Women wanted to avoid defining something as sex to avoid negative self- evaluations and to maintain their view of themselves as virgins. Men wanted to avoid defining something as sex to avoid harming a friendship or to avoid having had sex with the wrong person. Sex: petting, oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex, kissing, masturbation. Sexual orientation is a combination of emotional, romantic, sexual or affectionate attraction to another person. It"s about who you"re attracted to, fall in love with and want to live your life with. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, queer, questioning, Sexuality is a spectrum and not just exclusive to these terms. Lesbian women and gay men (reasons for sex): Regardless of sexual orientation (leigh): men: pleasure, conquest, release of sexual tension. Regardless of gender (leigh): heterosexual: reproduction and pleasing one"s partner. Ronson, wood and milhausen: 20 lesbians aged 19-42 were interviewed to discuss reasons from engaging in sex.
