Young boys are more likely to commit suicide. Parental expectations for girls and boys begin to di er even before the child is born gender segregation. Parents tend to treat children di erently in areas that are more speci c to gender expectations, such as toys, clothing and participation in household tasks can be about our expectations for our children before they are even born toysrus, Babysrus pink and blue toys or gender neutral colours the large majority of baby clothes are meant for girls or boys though. Talk more to daughters and more active with sons parents tend to emphasize action or humour in the story when talking to boys but focus more on emotion when reading to girls.
