Key points for coastal erosion will be helpful for tests. Coastal erosion happens naturally, therefore it is not a hazard we can avoid. Once you protect the beach that has eroded, there will be more erosion elsewhere. This problem will keep happening and is hard to reverse. Gravitational forces of the sun affect the pull of the earth. Orbiting the earth is the moon, which takes about a month to rotate around the earth. When the gravitational forces of the moon are in line with the gravitational forces of the sun, it creates a spring tide. Spring tides: largest tides in any given month (happens every 2 weeks) because the forces are in line with each other. Neap tides: gravitational forces of the sun and the gravitational forces of the moon are perpendicular; counteracting the sun"s gravitational forces. St john"s newfoundland have some of the highest tides in the world.
