Wanted by western eurasia (gold + silver) Rising age of marriage, fewer kids, fear, regulation by church. Less mouths to feed = less vulnerable. After plague, more land used for agriculture + invention of new farming equipment. Serf = owe labor to someone else. Peasants getting ripped off, upwards pressure (wages) Less than 10% of europeans lived in urban spaces. Renaissance (italy) + reformation (germany) = urban developments. England wanted to claim rulership over france.
