Henry iii murdered henry guise and his brother in 1588. Peace of augsburg 1555, one king one faith. The achieved a balance between protestants, and catholics. Low countries accepted the peace of augsburg in a spirit of conciliation which was never intended. Catholics, lutherans, anabaptists, and calvinists coexisted peacefully. Calvinists did not have a right to worship, not under a ruler. Habsburg: was a dynasty that ruled the holy roman emperor. Jesuits created an increase in faith, through education. Protestant leaders needed permission from the rulers to continue practicing their faith.
