Sources of global history since 1900 (119-126), (154-161) Banks began to fail, investments plummeted, prices/wages fell and unemployment lines and the soup kitchens became to be a feature of the urban landscape (what was normal) Due to the gd many men and women lost jobs, farms, investments, homes, savings, some possessions, health, dignity and hope and it also had important political ramifications. It heightened social tensions and encouraged many of its victims to believe that the hardship they suffered was because of the jews, communists, capitalists and some other scapegoats.
