In 1872 darwin says there is an emotional link between humans and animals. Animals have performed in circuses, films, and are used on farms. Since the 18th century animals are living in the home. In some cases pets are getting better food and medical treatment than humans. The first school for veterinary science opened in 1762. They mostly examine horses for military service. They also study domestic animals as well as farm animals, and how epidemics spreads. At the same time experiments are taking place on animals. It is made up mostly of the middle class. People are concerned with live dissections taking place on animals. The society for the prevention of cruelty to animals is formed in london in 1824. Pressure the government to pass the cruelty to animals act in 1876. A similar group is formed in paris in 1845.
