Summer 1919 british help out with sending people home. 1917 great war veterans assoc. is the first group that lobbies for supporting the veterans. Gwva launches multiple year campaign fighting for disability pensions: active on shell shock/psychological damage. The way to treat these people is as they are weak: successful in expanding who is eligible for pensions (doubled amount of people who get support) A lot of canadian soldiers were disbanded and the army was being shut down. Influenza spread worldwide killing millions: 21-50 million people. Working class families are struggling to make ends meet.
