Apply the fertilizer well before it is needed. It is only valuable to the plant if it is dissolved in water. If you are planting, it would be great to apply the fertilizer a few days before planting. Great organic matter, but not a lot of nutrition n, p, k. Manure, it is not a good nutritional source, good for organic matter. Water soluble, for container gardening it is good, almost immediately available to the plant because it is liquid. To manipulate the microclimate, add a mulch. Water conservation, weed control, cooling effect on soil, black plastic mulch will heat up soil. Exam give me 4 uses of organic mulches/ how do they contribute to a successful garden. Definition: removal of plant parts to control size or shape, rejuvenate growth, allow better light penetration, remove dead material and balance growth. Pruning for balance: grapes- yield, quality and winter hardiness.
