Document Summary

The process of vegetative cell division is mitosis. What goes in to mitosis comes out the same. The number of chromosomes that were duplicated the daughter cell will have the same amount. Takes place in the reproductive organs, ex. Duplication of dna, cell division, but the product that comes out of that has half of the chromosome number. Pollen grain, has half the chromosome number, egg cell same. Polypoids/ diploids strawberries are octopoids, they have 8 chromosomes. Polypoids have an evolutionary advantage because they are larger and more vigorous plants. Homozygous, to alleles that are the same. Heterozygous, to alleles that are different yellow is dominant over green. F1 generation, this is the fist seeds that are produced when you cross to parents. When alleles are paired in their normal state, if they are the same it is called homozygous dominant.
