Sylvain main argument addresses the fact that indigenous women"s rights need a better balance of individual and group rights for everyone"s collective return. Identity is inseparable and when considering group rights, the identity of women must be considered alongside indigenous marginalization, rather than as a separate sector. To have positive collective rights, we must analyze how these rights consider gender and women"s experiences so that all members of the community are considered. This paper relates to course content by balancing the idea of group right versus women"s rights. Intersectionality of discrimination is a central point to development, and when considering women"s rights it"s necessary to consider women"s experiences and how policies can help their gendered marginalization as well. Development only considers half of the population when women"s rights are not considered as well.
