Utilitarian: take care of yourself, bias and self interest, the end justi es the mean . Ethics: branch of philosophy, analysis of social, moral, etc. impact, assists in decision making when there is uncertainty. Why ethics: rationality and the way we make rational decisions is changing, people don"t go deeper in their research, they are used to having information at their ngertips. What is is ethics: information systems ethics is about people involved with the system, not hardware or software. Common business application professional code of conduct: associations that take responsibility for partial regulation of professions, ex. if you are an accountant and get a dui, you can loose your certi cation. Ethical principles: united nation declarations of human rights, canada"s charter of rights and freedoms, association of computing machinery"s code of ethics.
