A 30 second clip of a song will be played in class followed by a series of questions regarding the song"s significance (cultural, social, etc. ) No easy questions like what is the name of this song? etc. You need to purchase access to the publisher"s website if you don"t buy the textbook. It is suggested to simply purchase the ebook since it comes with the text as well as publisher access. New hard copies will also include publisher access but will be more expensive. Used copies of the textbook will not include publisher access. The online material is the publisher"s playlist access on spotify. : an introduction to rock and its history. More complex questions should be brought to office hours. Key concept in this course is historical context. Important to understand the significance of songs.
