Musc 2150 lecture 6 (feb 11 2014) the british invasion. Even though segregation and discrimination was now illegal these things didn"t change and stop overnight. They made a 10 point program of demands that included guaranteed employment, healthcare and a livable (minimum) wage. Throughout the 60s tensions continue to rise not a happy time: people mad thinking their place is being taken, others mad that they can"t have a place in society, time of racial and gender strife. Then the british invade: the british had a thing for american rock and roll music in order to get music from. The beatles: they had a long career compared to a lot of bands, went through different style periods their original style was like rock and roll. Hippie culture influenced one of the beatles phases they psychedelic phase. Dripcity an example of musique cocrete: to differentiate themselves from the beatles they cultivated more of a bad boy image .
