All diseases of the liver are associated with nausea, vomiting and anorexia. Alcohol metabolized to fat fat stays in liver. Can resolve with abstinence of alcohol and adequate nutrition. 3 stage) cirrhosis (scared tissue = not functioning and blocked liver flow) End-stage, chronic inflammation leads to fibrosis and necrosis (death of liver cells) Health tissue replaced by scare tissue blocks flow, resulting in liver not function. Symptoms: fatigue, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, pem. Portal hypertension: high pressure in the vein that carry nutrition from digestive tract.
