Why do some people love ambiguity, because without it art is just teaching you a lesson. A masterpiece is greater than the sum of all its interpratations. If it doesn"t have ambigulity it just leads us to a concept and it doesn"t have free play. It is not just about these events but it gives the events more significance it"s not like reading a newspaper article. Odysseus is lost and has been trying to find his way home since the trojan war, and a poet comes out to sing a song about what happened during the trojan war. On the surface it sounds like an analogy it sounds like he"s crying the same way that a woman whose husband just died in war and is being carried to slavery would be crying. Odysseus saw his friends die, he himself was led away and forced by the wrath of the gods was forced into this endless journey.
