Women in most countries earn on average only 60 to 75 per cent of men"s wages. Women are more likely to be unpaid family workers or to work in the informal sector (unprotected by unions, labour legislation or welfare programs) Almost 90 per cent of 143 economies have at least one legal difference restricting women"s economic opportunities of those, 79 economies have laws that restrict the types of jobs that women can do. Two thirds of the global illiterate population are women. A political struggle for the eradication of women"s subordination. It is a proposal for a change in the relations of power between people, men over women, and the relations of power expressed in the different realms of life (gloria guzm n, Global south: women"s social movements arose primarily as a response to human rights abuses and the economic problems facing their families.
