In which people have a direct say in maters of the state. Representaive democracy (this is what we are in canada) In which people appoint representaives to speak for them in maters of the state. Most pracical way of applying the democraic ideal to large, modern and complex socieies. Involves ciizens in deliberaing about governing decisions through discussion. Ordinary ciizens can make recommendaions that are in public interest if they have the opportunity for free and equal discussion and have access to informaion, ideas and ime.
