Where does government get its revenue -- almost half from personal income tax. Payments that go to persons, other levels of gov or other org. Transfers to people represents about 26 cents of every tax dollar. Transfers to government rep. about 22 cents. Canada health transfer, canada social transfer, equalization and gas. I. e. farmers, aboriginals, amateur sports, foreign aid, r&d. Bulk of expenditures after transfers goes to pay the operating costs of more than 130 departments, agencies, crown corporations and other federal bodies that provide services to canadians. Nearly all this spending goes to just 3 organizations. This represents the interest charges for the money the federal government has borrowed and not yet repaid.
