The treaty of versailles: german reparations and disarmament, germany didn"t realize they had really. Determined that germany would have to pay the enemies back from the damage of the war. Self determination: prior to the treaty there was only a handful of nation states in europe. Language and ethnicity as the basis for statehood, they formed their own nation-state based on their community. The league of nations: collective security; wilson"s 14 points - essentially his negotiating points detailing all of the things that will have to happen to the various powers in europe to create a league of nations.
