Typical expression in grower pigs (>12 wks old) If it is a naive (mycoplasma free status) population then there will be high mortality. Producers want to finish the stage as efficiently as possible. Mh colonizes trachea and bronchial epithelial cells. Accumulation of secretory and cellular debrid gravitate from bronchi to alveoli (deeper into the lung) Creates inflammation and infection if bacteria present.
