PSYC 2330 Lecture 3: PSYC 2330 - September 15
Document Summary
**note: remember all of the slide information for the midterms/exams to be successful. Is drive reduction necessary for learning: edward tolman - latent learning: learning can occur in the absence of drive reduction, but remain unused until a stimulus provides incentive for using it (until it is needed) It is not necessary for learning: learning occurs and you have an unnoticed change in behaviour but you will not realize this. Neurotransmitters and calcium (ca+: allows the docking to the vesicles to let the channels open up. If you block these channels, you cannot release chemicals. Habituation of the gill-withdrawal reflex: habituation is caused by a decrease in the release of neurotransmitters from the sensory neuron due to, reduction of pool of synaptic vesicles. Inactivation of calcium channels by calcium itself: property of the biology you possess, does not require any form of reasoning or association (very mechanistic)
