Different views of person as an active individual (we each have our own reasons for doing things - genetics is not telling the child to run, the child is running b/c of the toy) Although things start with a reflex (stepping), learning to walk is the ability of integrating many components. Elaborate briefly on each: begins with the person as an active knower and a curious seeker (think curious george) Which comes first: the atom or the knower (the person that proposes there are atoms) Assimilation: when a child sees a bus for the first time and says its a car.
