The family as a (dynamic) social system (mini society and work together) Link: motor development as a dynamic system. [next point re. family therapy is not on the exam] The unique core: minuchin (alliances, coalitions, boundaries, communication, implicit rules, etc), bowen (triangulation, sibling position) The cycle: infant behavior and development -> parenting -> parent"s relationship. Family therapy: parents should be connected with their children (not enmeshed ), provide children with autonomy, and retain their position as the executive (vs. older child joints replacing a physically or emotionally absent parent. Active, passive and evocative genotypes. (every child is unique, even the attachments, that is the evocative piece) Couple and family therapy map and methods in general (slides 6 & 7 not on exam) (oed) set of parents and children, or of relations, living together or not -> this is the modern definition of a family. Yet over 90% continue to marry (diamond ring fantasy)
