If we see someone we don"t know or something new and cannot recognize with the templates that we have already used, we need to create a new one. 5 elements to recognize an e because of the lines. Unique template for every one of them. Patients who lose the ability to recognize objects can sometimes describe individual features (john in the video -> can recognize when someone would change their shirt due to it"s pattern) We"re attuned to things that stand out. Once a receptive eld is found, try different types of visual stimuli to know where else it would re and what reacts to it. Shapes are put together to create features. ex: ink blot -> geons can see how the letters are individual or how they are put together. Seems a lot easier than it actually is. * see the picture as some chunks look like words, than silences marking with boundaries between them.
