Individuals possess stable traits or characteristics that influence their attitudes. Individuals are predisposed to behave in certain ways. Identical twins still had more commonality than fraternal even when reared apart. Characteristics of the organizational setting such as rewards & punishment influence people"s feelings, attitudes & behaviour. Many studies have shown that situational factors such as the characteristics of work task predict job satisfaction. Darley & batson"s (1973) good samaritan study. If participant was in a rush, less likely to stop (very religious people who go out of their way to help others) Behaviour is a function of both dispositions & the situation. The importance of fit putting the right person in the right job, group, or organization. Strong = clear situations (red light everyone stops, green light everyone goes).
