Document Summary
A pr i l 7 , 2 0 1 6. There are structures that inhibit aggression and those that encourage it. Intraspeciic aggression vs. interspeciic aggression: within the species, or between other species. Moivaion: ofensive aggression is not mediated by fear, defensive aggression is mediated by fear. Behavioural paterns: overt aggression attacks, bites, ights, punches, etc. More masculine: ritualized aggression body postures for communication. Indirect aggression can still cause problems, not as overt or obvious, but can last longer and make a problem: biting pattern (overt aggression) target site for attacks. Dorsal ofensive, one who is being attacked is leeing and being chased by attacker. Ventral defensive, when animal is cornered and cannot escape they get desperate and go for the most vulnerable parts of the body for the hardest counterattack: impulsive aggression. Challenging over something that both animals want (food, power, mates) Protecting resources and excluding members of the same species from a speciic area/strangers.
