The rate of bullying are higher in canada than any other country. Canada ranks 26th and 27th out of 35 countries on the prevalence of bullying and victimization. Among 13 year olds, 17. 8% of boys and 116% of girls bullied others frequently and. 17. 8% of boys and 15. 1% of girls are considered victims. Adolescents who bully others are almost 5 times more likely to report using drugs than their beers. Boys who bully are often found to have high risk for delinquency and subsequent criminal behaviour. Those who get bullied are at high risk for stress related symptoms: they are 1. 3 and. 1. 3 and 3. 3 times more likely to report stomach aches. 1. 3 and 5. 2 times more likely to report dif culty sleeping. 1. 2 and 2. 4 times more likely to wet the bed. 1. 6 and 6. 8 times more likely to report depressive symptoms. One- fth and one-quarter of victims report bullying for the reason they stay home from school.
