Real estate professions are usually based in and focused on cities. Understanding the reasons of why we have cities and why cities grow, leads to better business decisions. 3 a dense collection of inhabitants of relatively large population. 4 where few of the citizens make their living directly from agricultural activity. 5 where the social and economic relationships are relatively complex and hierarchical. 4 within a city, economic activities are classified into two sectors: 5 export (or basic) sector: serves more than the local population brings revenues. 6 service sector: serves the local population. e. g. grocery stores, real estate from outside into the city. agents, etc. 7 *****export sector is more important than the service sector******service sector is dependent on the export sector. 8 conclusion: export sector is the primary force for city growth.
