(2009), females with tattoos are seen as less attractive, sexually promiscuous, heavy drinkers, or mentally unstable. These labels seem to only be driven against women, and not men. Many of those with tattoos must use techniques of stigma management: if you are around those who stigmatize by association, you might engage in what. Goffman calls passing you pass yourself off as a normal person by, for example, covering your tattoo up. This helps in disidentifying yourself from deviant others: embracing the stigma some people don"t care that they are seen as outsiders because that"s what they strive to be. Many of these people want to achieve their status through shock value. The ideal body thin bodies are deemed to be the most desirable bodies in north.
