Power: sexually motivated murder is most common: hospital caretakers, ex: donald harvey- dominance, pseudocommando killers dress in battle gear- symbol of power, ex: 1987 julian knight, mission oriented killer: further a cause; visionary killer. Revenge: revenge motivates especially mass killings, murderer seeks to get even with they know, murder by proxy: victims are chosen b/c they are identified with a primary target against whom revenge is sought. Soc reading week 6: ex: 1987: ronal gene simmons; 1986: patrick sherrill, specifically chosen for specific reasons, wide range conspiracy. Profit: designed to eliminate victims/witnesses to a crime (robbery)
