Industry grows at a very rapid past: until the 1960s the growth was ongoing, for every single standard offi(cid:272)er there"s over 2 private offi(cid:272)ers. Private policing: context: private police are a lot cheaper then standard police officer, reasons for growth. In the usa belief was that individuals should be allowed to purchase private policing as they do any other service: gives green light to industry to market aggressively to those within society. Accountability: public police there is a hierarchy that is present: we hold them accountable through the courts. Poaccountability: private police: private police are first accountable to the public, criminally and civilly liable, (cid:272)ourts don"t favor private, (cid:271)ut favor pu(cid:271)li(cid:272) poli(cid:272)e, accountable to contract law.
