For comparisons of more than two variables
Ha always has to be that there is difference between one of the
three variables, not specific way
Can't use confidence intervals or t tests to accurately compare
multiple population means
Alternative hypothesis now just states that the population means are
not equal
Testing the alternative hypothesis that they are not all the same to
disprove the null hypothesis that they are is the F test
Analysis of variance F test usually carried out with a test statistic, P
value and computer software
F test does not indicate which of the means are different, but just
that they are or not
Estimate sigma by rooting the mean square in residuals row
