Document Summary

Different people use the word style in a different way, but to sky, its realism. Style; naturalism: biological (more real than realism) heredity, upbringing, parents, claws, biology. Genres which are definitely not realism: musicals, shakespeare (all poetry plays people don"t talk like that), children"s theatre, fantasy earnest (a comedy not real) , absurdist plays. If i am looking to put a play on, the play needs to go with its own logic. If it"s a poetry play; great poetry, absurd play= imaginative and surprising. They are waiting for someone, who they don"t know, who never shows up-its illogical, people appear who are abusive and no one does anything and the language is insane. The point of absurdist is not to laugh but to think. Miss julia: a play that sternberg wrote about a countess and a stable boy who seduces her.
