Through the analysis of the two genres, romance drama and disaster films, this paper will explore the cultural meanings and demonstrate how these genres contributed greatly to the overall success of the film. By examining steven and jasmines relationship and the teamwork of the american people to defeat the aliens, it will be evident that both romance and disaster film genres played a vital roles in improving the quality of the film.
