Women"s studied is an important and exciting experience that introduces new ways of seeing both the world and oneself. Women"s studies courses investigate women"s experiences, perspectives, and contributions, placing women at the center of inquiry. A basic premise of women"s studies is that we cannot understand the world without understanding the world without understanding women"s experiences, perspectives and contributions. A two-pronged project: it has created courses within traditional disciplines with the goal of incorporating both women and their experiences into their subject matter, it has created interdisciplinary course and lines of inquiry. Feminist pedagogy making sure the approach to teaching is shaped by feminist goals and feminist values. By emphasizing the contributions of women, critically challenging the conceptual frameworks underlying traditional scholarship, and presenting theory and research focusing on women"s experiences, women"s studies is transforming the terrain of human knowledge.
