If applicants lack the necessary skills and/or aptitudes, considerable additional resources may have to be invested into selection, training and development, employee communication systems, and employee relation practices. If the firms workforce dose not reflect the larger labour market composition, the firm may be asked to pursue employment equity program to correct imbalances.
