Social class categories of people who share an economic position in society based on a combination of their income (earnings), wealth (possessions), education, occupation and social connections. Classism discrimination against or in favour of people belonging to a particular social class. We see the world through our class position . Social class- - people that occupy the same economic rank belong to a social class but . Sport as a major institute that is bound to market forces and market ideologies. Social di erentiation - categorizing people by age, height, occupation, race, or other personal attribute. Social strati cation when these attributes are ranked hierarchically (often seen as superior to inferior) This is how we put people into rankings. Gender, race, income, these are factors we use to do these rankings. Strati cation is created & supported by society as a whole. Recognizing there is a wide system that make inequalities apparent, it"s systematic based on group memberships.
