The pig will go into a stall and the gate will close behind the sow and she is protected from other pigs and can eat as much as she wants. Other pigs can"t go in there and disturb. The animals that were more submissive found it was save to stay in the stalls instead of being aggressive, they had a choice of freedom of movement and they chose to stay in there stall. Welfare concern voiced to public and or industry. It is causing a change in practice. People are acting on feelings rather than on scienti c facts.
