Administrative tribunals are often boards or commissions charged with the responsibility of regulating certain business activities. These tribunals are established under speci c legislation, and their duties and responsibilities are set out in the statute, along with the power to enforce those provisions in the law that affect persons or businesses that fall under the legislation. Must meet requirements and apply to be licensed under administrative tribunals. Misconduct is handled through the tribunal, ex. lose your license, suspension, ne, etc. Not used in saskatchewan in court as much as they used to. Today, not used in any great extent, and rarely for criminal cases. Historically, did not require a law degree. often would be retired police of cers, etc. Important role: empowered to release less serious offenders on bail. Deals with about 95% of all criminal cases.
