Shield sheafson was a great king to his people. The spear-danes were a strong group of people. Beow was a gift to the entire nation, for he would take over shield sheafson"s throne. His men put his body along with many treasures, swords, and armour on a boat and sent it out to. Shield passed on in the prime of his life unknown sea. Beowulf became the beloved ruler of the spear-danes. He had a son(an heir), halfdane, who was wise and stable. Halfdane had three sons: heorogar, hrothgar, and halga. Halfdane had a daughter as well(no name is mentioned) who married onela, and became queen of the swedes. Hrothgar, a great warrior with a large army, decided to build an enormous hall to rule his people from(the hall was named heorot) A demon(grendel) lived in a swamp outside of heorot, unable to stand the sounds of music and singing that came from the hall.
