Di erentiate between soil forming processes and soil forming factors this will be on the nal. It is a system of di erent material that are all interacting, important in the environment it is where the lithosphere is interacting with the biosphere and atmosphere. Pedology: the study of soil formation and classi cation. Soil forming processes: the intensity of which they are a ected are by the soil forming factor. Soil forming factors: in uence and e ect how much of the process are going on. Parent material is the loose material that will develop into the soil, the soils we observe are the result of processes that have been occurring for thousands of years. Raw sediment: rocky material that has been ground up and deposited on the surface, happened when the glaciers retreated. Lakes or rivers can also deposit this material once they recede also.
